Hoping you all are having an amazing week, well by the title of this post you would know its not related to makeup and all but its more about an ordeal i and my family went through last year, how God showed Himself Merciful & Faithful . Im not really good at narrating but i just gotta try. So here's how everything started, on the 19th of June 2014, i had gone to see my mother at her office to finalize some transactions for my business and it took a while so she left before me, after i was done i stopped over at shop rite before heading home, got home and noticed my mom wasn't home, so i asked the security guard if my mom had come back and left but he said 'no madam never come back' i called her phone several times 'no answer then switched off', called the last person i saw her with 'she said my mom left her to go home' at that spot i started panicking and many bad thoughts came into my mind 'what if she had an accident' 'what if something happened' i called my loved ones and told them i had a bad feeling something had happened to my mom but i was calmed, stood outside our gate waiting for my mom then i went back into the house and started praying. Shortly after, i heard a bangbang on the gate & it was her driver, he came in shouting, jumping and perplexed, i asked him what had happened and he said to me 'some people stop us, carry mommy, them give me her bag to give you, they put us for boot, carry us inside bush, them release only me and told me to keep going and not look back if not them go shoot me. I screamed and started crying, praying, called my Pastor and Family members, i told them exactly what the driver told me and i just couldn't imagine what was happening, i thought it was a dream or a movie. My neighbors came in and invited the nigerian police, who handled the situation privately.
After a day+ the kidnappers finally called my phone on Saturday ( 21st June 2014), using my mothers phone 'oh i was scared and shaking, i had never been that fearful, answered the call and negotiation began, i spoke calmly and responded to whatever they asked. I prayed like i had never done before, my family members had to come to our house, my pastors called and prayed with me, my close friends joined us in prayers daily. The kidnappers told me not to tell the police or press if i wanted to see my mother again, i couldn't eat, i panicked all through wondering where, what and how my mother was coping. they asked for $1,000,000 ransom and i fell, 'where was i going to get the money from? i pleaded with them and cried, oh the insults were so much, they spoke like they weren't humans (heartless), i could hear them hit my mom just to torture me emotionally, We later had to involve the Police HQ at Ikeja which wasn't a pleasant trip but they were of good help, they assured myself and family that everything would be alright. When i was about leaving the police station i saw a post on the wall and it had this below;
If God answers your prayers, He's increasing your faith, if he delays your prayers, He's increasing your patience but if he doesn't answer your prayers, He has something bigger planned for you.
Don't Give up
Don't Give up
And i felt an unexplainable peace after reading it, i wrote it down and read it to myself everyday even after negotiation talks, just to keep my mind sane and to think positive.
Anyways the main reason i'm sharing this test that has turned into a massive testimony is to make God famous, so i will just leave out the torture we went through and share what God did.
We prayed like never before, i read my bible like i hadn't, its funny how we don't focus on God during good times, i had to always surrender the situation to God because i was so weak, i cried till i had no tears left, food and material things meant nothing to me.
My Father instructed myself, brother and relations to stay indoors as he felt the kidnappers were watching our movements, so we did.
My close friend called to tell me she had a dream that two young boys my brothers age would help my mother escape from a swampy place, i didn't understand what she meant because i just wanted everything to stop, i wanted the pain and tears gone, i couldn't take it anymore, My Pastors called, prayed with me every day and asked for updates but mommy wasn't home yet. I missed everything about her, i missed gisting, praying and laughing with her, her motivational rants, i missed her calling me 'Nana', i missed her sending me on errands every second & and i would mumble 'ooooohhhh', i missed her calling my phone from her room to ask for her late night tea and so on.
On June 27th 2014 nine days after was the day they scheduled to collect the ransome, they wanted me to deliver the money to them but i almost fainted so my uncle decided to speak to them and they agreed to meet up with him instead, their ways were flawed and the police caught one of them, we began to panic as they weren't with my mom. we stood outside our gates finally waiting and praying for my mom to return unharmed since they had caught one of them, 8pm no show, 11pm no show, 11;45pm my pastor called me to pray as that day was a night vigil in church and he said 'Jennifer don't worry, we just prayed here and mommy is coming home' I began to pray along via the internet church and i got a flash that i would hear the same bangbang on the gate soon.
June 28th 2014 at exactly 12:00am i heard the bangbang on the gate as i was praying, we all ran outside and it was mommy, crying and limping as her legs & body was swollen, she had been held in EPE FOREST for Nine days and she was released by two boys my brothers age mate, same thing my close friend said she dreamt.
God saved her God saved her!
My mother revealed that they were watching our every move & she was calm about it after 2 days and adapted in the forest, shared the gospel with the boys that held her. She chose to show love instead of hate towards them, even when they caught one of them, their commander called the boys to kill her but just because of how she was filled with love regardless of what was happening, they couldn't kill her but set her free.
We took her to the hospital just to make sure she was good and the doctors reported nothing missing nor broken.
God didn't forsake us, Nine days to man is Nine seconds to God,
Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
I held unto God's word day and night, Psalm 20 and 40.
He already set her free before she was kidnapped, God knows it all. to think that i was supposed to follow her home in her car the day she was kidnapped, but a transaction held me back and i told her to go without me, it could have been both of us if not for that transaction it could have been a worse situation. i had to share this MESSAGE, although everything that happened isn't as straight to the point as i have written down here, it was more complicated and i needed to share it either ways for any one reading this to Know that THERE IS A GOD,WHO IS ALIVE, HE KNOWS IT ALL. So what ever mess you are in or just whatever isn't making you happy, i want you to know that God is watching, HE is HIGHER than that situation and He will hold you by His Mighty Right hand, neither will he forsake you and He will give you double honor for your shame just as He has done and continues to walk with us.
The police arrested the Kidnappers and we found out the mastermind was a distant neighbor that helped fix our gate.
Lessons Learnt;
1) Pray for Gods guidance that you and your family will be on time and at the right places
2) Be friendly with your neighbors and don't get too personal
3) Be vigilant while driving, always check to see that you aren't being followed4) Your gardeners, cooks,electrician,plumber, in general people who do maintenance jobs at your place of residence should be restricted and TREATED WITH RESPECT, mind the conversations you have with and around them ( do not talk about business transactions or leave important financial documents that they may accidentally see)
5) Always let at least two people know your location at every point in time, share the address and phone number of whoever you are having lunch or dinner or working with.
6) If you have an IPHONE device make SURE your FIND MY IPHONE is ON
7) Pray, Pray, Pray, Pray, Pray.
This is an experience i never want to witness ever again or wish an enemy.
Thank you for reading this testimony and i pray that you will draw close to God and surrender absolutely everything to HIM for thats the best decision you will ever make.
